The hospital has an existing GME platform with accredited Emergency Medicine and Transitional Year programs already in place. The infrastructure, faculty foundation, and support are established, allowing new leadership to focus on strengthening and advancing the program rather than building from scratch.

Position Highlights:

  • Develop the Internal Medicine residency program at our hospital, including establishing our program's vision and mission, establishing the curriculum and taking part in submitting our initial program application for accreditation.
  • Internal Medicine program planned to launch in 2027

  • Lead the process to interview residency program candidates on select interview days.
  • Develop and ensure residents know their educational goals and schedules for the assigned rotation(s).
  • Ensure residents receive the required hands-on clinical training per the ACGME internal medicine program requirements and that faculty take the time to answer questions, prompt learning, and offer salient teaching points.
  • Ensure the residents are provided informal and formal feedback throughout each supervisory period so they are learning and growing. At the end of the rotation, ensure the resident is provided formal feedback through an online form and review the formal feedback with them as appropriate.  Ensure that if the resident is being supervised by a group or team, feedback about the resident's performance is aggregated and shared by the faculty member responsible for completing the evaluation on behalf of the group.
