FQHC Seeking Pulmonologist for NE Kansas

Our community health center is seeking a Pulmonologist to become a member of our staff providing high-quality, patient-centered care for patients. This role involves both outpatient and inpatient responsibilities, with an emphasis on high-quality clinical care, patient education, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Must be able to manage complex or multi-system conditions, and have experience with critical care management, including ventilator support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Medical Director for Pulmonology Services including respiratory therapy, pulmonary function tests and Sleep Lab
  • Provide consultation and referral services to CHCSs Clinic providers for Pulmonology services for patients
  • Manage acute and chronic respiratory conditions in inpatient and outpatient setting
  • Five (5) days a week splitting time between Onaga, Holton and St. Mary’s Clinic

Qualifications & Skills

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution
  • Completion of Internal Medicine Residency program
  • Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Educations (ACCME) in Pulmonology
  • Fellowship training in Pulmonary Medicine
  • BE or BC in Pulmonary Medicine
  • Valid medical license to practice in State of Kansas
  • Commitment to compassionate, accessible care for underserved rural populations

The Kansas Recruitment and Retention Center (KRRC) partners with hospitals, private practices, community health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and other organizations to help strengthen the health care workforce in rural and urban under resourced communities across the State. KRRC services are designed to assist Kansas communities in recruiting and retaining physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, APRNs, nurses, dental hygienists, allied health professionals, and behavioral health professionals. In addition to offering recruitment support for Kansas health care facilities and job search support to a variety of health care providers, the KRRC offers resources for CV/resume building, interview prep, and contract negotiation.  

Currently partnering with 55+ health care organizations, we serve as their initial point of contact and liaison in recruiting those seeking to serve in rural and urban underserved communities.

This small town of about 700 people is nestled in the rolling Flint Hills of Kansas that sits along the waters of the Vermillion River.  It has the conveniences in town that you need with the benefits of a small town that is located within 50 miles of either Topeka or Manhattan. It is surrounded by scenic drives and hiking and biking trails.  Walk-in public fishing and hunting areas are nearby.  Our beautiful 9-hole golf course is open to the public and offers lovely views of the Flint Hills.
