Job Description

Mercyhealth System in Janesville, Wisconsin, is currently seeking a Full-Time Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Palliative Care Physician to join our collaborative inpatient care team serving Southern Wisconsin.

Departmental Scope:

Join a collaborative interdisciplinary team, including:

  • Palliative Care Physicians
  • Advanced Practice Providers
  • Palliative Care Nurses
  • Social Workers
  • Chaplain / Spiritual Care
  • Case Management
  • Practice within a hospital-based setting focused on:
  • Inpatient palliative care consultations
  • Symptom management and pain control
  • Goals-of-care discussions with patients and families
  • Advance care planning and end-of-life support
  • Coordination of care across specialties
  • Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings

Ideal candidate will:

  • Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Take a compassionate, patient-centered approach
  • Demonstrate interest in program growth and development
  • Provide education to staff and support interdisciplinary collaboration

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO Board Certified or Board Eligible
  • Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred
  • Eligible for Wisconsin medical licensure
  • Strong commitment to high-quality, compassionate patient care
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team

Compensation & Benefits:

Mercyhealth offers a highly competitive initial salary guarantee along with a comprehensive benefits package:

  • Salary Range: $240,000–$250,000
