Our community
Nestled in the Smoky Hills of northern Kansas, we are a welcoming small city of just over 5,100 residents serving as the heart of our county. The community is well-served educationally by our public school system as well as a local community college, offering learning opportunities from early childhood through higher education. Residents enjoy a charming small downtown, a vibrant city park with tennis and basketball courts, and a community recreation center offering youth and adult programming. With tree-lined streets, a strong sense of community, and easy access to Salina just 55 miles south, our community offers an enriching quality of life with the warmth and character of small-town Kansas.
The Kansas Recruitment and Retention Center (KRRC) partners with hospitals, private practices, community health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and other organizations to help strengthen the health care workforce in rural and urban under resourced communities across the State. KRRC services are designed to assist Kansas communities in recruiting and retaining physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, APRNs, nurses, dental hygienists, allied health professionals, and behavioral health professionals. In addition to offering recruitment support for Kansas health care facilities and job search support to a variety of health care providers, the KRRC offers resources for CV/resume building, interview prep, and contract negotiation.
Currently partnering with 55+ health care organizations, we serve as their initial point of contact and liaison in recruiting those seeking to serve in rural and urban underserved communities.
