Job Description

Sinai Chicago is seeking a compassionate, mission?driven Spanish?speaking Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health team. We are looking for a clinician committed to delivering high?quality, culturally responsive psychiatric care to a diverse patient population, with a strong focus on serving Spanish?speaking communities across Chicago’s West and Southwest sides.

The Psychiatrist will practice in an interdisciplinary environment with opportunities across inpatient, outpatient, and consultation?liaison settings, depending on expertise and interest. This role is central to Sinai Chicago’s mission of advancing health equity, supporting underserved communities, and addressing the social determinants of health.

Experience or additional training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is highly desirable and considered a significant plus.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, and treatment plans in outpatient settings

  • Deliver evidence?based care, including medication management and psychotherapy

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, therapists, social workers, and primary care providers

  • Conduct psychiatric consultations on medical?surgical units as needed

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and clinical education

  • Document all clinical encounters thoroughly and in a timely manner in the EMR

  • Engage effectively with Spanish?speaking patients and families to ensure understanding and adherence to treatment plans

  • Contribute to Sinai Chicago’s mission of community service, culturally competent care, and health equity

 

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school

  • Completion of an ACGME?accredited Psychiatry Residency program

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

  • Additional fellowship training or experience in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry is a strong plus

  • Active Illinois medical license (or eligibility to obtain)

  • DEA license with Schedule II–V certification

  • Fluency in Spanish (required)

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated commitment to serving underserved populations

  • Experience in community health or public hospital settings preferred
