Location: Adirondack Health – Saranac Lake, NY

Schedule: Full-Time, Hospital Employed

Compensation: $350,000 – $400,000 guaranteed base salary, plus productivity, quality, and sign-on bonus (negotiable) | Medical Director stipend available


About the Opportunity

Adirondack Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Otolaryngologist (ENT) to join our team in a dual-role capacity as both a clinical ENT Physician and Medical Director. This is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead and shape ENT services for a growing, mission-driven regional health system nestled in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains.

As Medical Director, you will provide strategic and clinical leadership for the ENT department, working collaboratively with administration, surgical teams, and multidisciplinary specialists to expand access to high-quality ear, nose, and throat care across the Tri-Lakes region. This position combines meaningful clinical practice with the professional satisfaction of departmental leadership and community impact.

Medical Director Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the ENT department
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on quality initiatives, service line growth, and strategic planning
  • Participate in peer review, credentialing, and medical staff governance activities
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, patient safety, and team development
  • Support recruitment and onboarding of future ENT providers as the service line grows

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and management of ENT conditions including disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck
  • Perform surgical procedures including but not limited to tonsillectomy, sinus surgery (FESS), thyroid/parathyroid surgery, otologic procedures, and laryngoscopy
  • Provide inpatient consultations and collaborate with emergency medicine, primary care, and other specialties
  • Participate in call coverage on a shared rotation basis

Compensation & Benefits

  • Guaranteed Base Salary: $350,000 – $400,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
  • Medical Director Stipend: Available

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery
  • Eligible for New York State medical licensure
  • Prior leadership or administrative experience preferred but not required
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, evidence-based, patient-centered care
