WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s is home to the state’s largest—and most experienced—group of pediatric primary care physicians and specialists. We offer expertise in nearly every childhood condition, no matter how rare or serious.
Our 150 bed Golisano Children’s Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac EP and interventional catheterization lab, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, the only level 4 NICU in the state, a dedicated Cancer Institute, a Pediatric Emergency Department with Rapid Care, 15 PICU beds, and is the mainstay for WVU Medicine Children’s Heart Center of Excellence including 8 CICU beds. WVU Medicine Golisano Children’s is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. The Birthing Center houses a 30-bed obstetrical unit and the maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.
