Position Overview:
Bridgeport Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Emergency Medicine physician to join our team as a nocturnist. This role focuses on providing high-quality, patient-centered care during overnight hours in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive emergency medical care for patients presenting with acute illness or injury during overnight shifts
  • Perform timely assessment, diagnosis, stabilization, and treatment across a broad spectrum of conditions
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including advanced practice providers, nursing, and specialty consultants
  • Ensure accurate and efficient documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to departmental protocols and patient safety standards

Schedule & Environment:

  • Primarily overnight shifts 
  • High-volume, community-based hospital with access to specialty services
  • Supportive team environment with APP and subspecialty coverage

Bridgeport Hospital is a private, not-for-profit acute care hospital located in Connecticut’s most populous city, primarily serving patients from Fairfield and New Haven counties. Burn patients are seen in the Connecticut Burn Center - the only burn center in Connecticut - from throughout the state and neighboring states.
