Are you a hospitalist who’s ready to step up, lead from the front line, and shape how inpatient care is delivered to Veterans in the Texas Panhandle? Join the Thomas E. Creek VA Medical Center in Amarillo and help build a high-performing, mission-driven Hospitalist team serving those who served.
At the Amarillo VA Health Care System, you won’t just cover an inpatient list—you’ll help design how the entire service runs. As Assistant Chief of Hospital Medicine, you’ll partner closely with the Chief Hospitalist to lead a cohesive team focused on quality, safety, and an outstanding Veteran experience.
In this role, you will:
Provide direct inpatient care as a Hospitalist for a proud population of U.S. Veterans.
Help oversee day to day operations of the hospitalist service, including schedules, throughput, and coverage models.
Drive quality improvement work around length of stay, readmissions, sepsis, and mortality, and champion evidence based care.
Mentor residents, students, and advanced practice providers, modeling compassionate, data driven medicine.
Serve as a key voice at the leadership table, partnering with nursing, specialty services, and administration to elevate inpatient care.
You’ll practice in a federal, integrated health system that emphasizes team-based care, generous benefits, and true work–life balance, all while serving a mission that matters.
