West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine, Section of Hematology/Oncology and the Medical Oncology Division of the Schiffler Cancer Center are seeking Hematology/Oncology Physicians to join our team (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor). The position will be primarily based in Wheeling, West Virginia. Depending on operational needs, a successful candidate may also be assigned to provide services at additional worksites in West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. In such instances, travel would be anticipated and expected to fulfill said duties at these additional sites.
The Opportunity: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of hematology/oncology. In additional to providing excellent patient care, the candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Applicants must have an MD, DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible to obtain state medical licensure. Candidates must have completed an accredited internal medicine residency and hematology/oncology or oncology fellowship and be board certified/eligible in oncology. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
The Organization: This community based oncology practice at Wheeling Hospital has a long history of serving the Wheeling and northern panhandle with excellent patient care. The center has recently initiated a collaboration with WVU, allowing for networking and access to University resources in the community practice to enhance patient care and experience. The practice has experienced continued growth and expansion of oncology services. There are available radiation oncology and surgical services associated with the hospital as well.
