Duties:
- Provide evidence-based care in an outpatient clinical setting and provide consultation services in an inpatient setting or emergent need. Provide telehealth consultations as needed.
- Perform a physical examination, review patient's medical data and order routine diagnostic imaging studies and labs when indicated.
- Document observation, assessments, and changes in patient's condition; collaborating with health team members to facilitate positive patient care outcomes.
- Provide diagnosis and treatment of adult patients presenting with cardiovascular diseases such as congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, valvular disease, etc.
- Participation in clinical on call schedule.
- Perform and interpret non-invasive cardiology procedures such as echocardiogram, stress testing, holter, event, EKG's, transesophageal echocardiogram, cardioversion, cardiac catheterization, etc.
- Regularly monitor patients' progress throughout treatment, managing any side effects and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary staff to identify, communicate, and resolve issues related to the Cardiology section, Medical Center ancillary and support operations, and VISN-wide mandates.
- Participates in quality assurance (QA) activities to include and provide data collection, data analysis, and trends and reports on changes based on data collection.
