Primary Care Physician — Family Medicine, Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

El Rio Health is one of Tucson’s largest Federally Qualified Health Centers, serving the community across 14 sites with a team of over 1,500 providers. We’re growing and looking for dedicated primary care physicians who want to practice full-scope medicine, backed by strong support staff, modern technology, and a schedule built around work-life balance — with no after-hours call.

Practice & Schedule

• Outpatient-focused practice across 14 clinics in Tucson — no commuting between cities
• Flexible scheduling: Mon–Sat with shifts from 7am–8pm, or traditional Mon–Fri 8am–5pm
• Manageable daily patient panel with no hard maximum
• Optional inpatient hybrid: rounding at St. Mary’s Hospital (450 beds), El Rio census capped at 15
• Zero call obligation — 24/7 RN triage handles after-hours; no weekend or overnight responsibility
• Full-scope primary care procedures in-office: IUDs, Nexplanon, sutures, abscess drainage, and more

Support & Technology

• 5 Medical Assistants per MD (2 MAs per Pediatrician) — more support than most practices
• Epic EMR with Abridge Ambient AI Scribing — reduces documentation burden significantly
• In-office ultrasound, X-ray, and mammography
• Direct access to employed specialists: OB/GYN, Pulmonary, Psychiatry, Radiology, Pharmacists, Dentistry, and Hospitalists
• Teaching roles available and compensated with additional wRVU and encounter credit

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, specialty, and qualifications
• Additional pay for advanced degrees, fellowships, or certifications above minimum requirements

• 6 weeks PTO + 1 week CME time + 9 paid holidays (full-time)
• Annual CME/licensure/dues budget; DEA and state license fees reimbursed at start

Position Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Pediatrics
• Graduates through 2027 welcome
• Spanish language skills a plus; not required
