Mackinac Straits Health System is seeking a full-time, board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine Physician to join the St. Ignace Medical Clinic — a strictly outpatient practice offering a highly desirable four-day work week at the gateway to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Position Highlights

  • Full-spectrum, outpatient-focused family medicine at the St. Ignace Medical Clinic, alongside Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Oncology, and other specialists.
  • Flexible four- or five-day work week with exceptional clinical autonomy and strong work-life balance.

  • Close strategic affiliation with MyMichigan Health, linking you to regional resources, educational partnerships, and subspecialty support.
  • New graduates completing residency are welcome to apply.

Position Benefits

  • Competitive market-based salary with productivity incentives and a sign-on bonus.
  • Loan repayment eligibility as a designated rural health provider: up to $75,000 through NHSC (two-year term) and up to $300,000 through MSLRP.
  • Relocation assistance.
  • Blue Cross/Blue Shield health, dental, and vision coverage with an integrated prescription drug plan.
  • 401(a) retirement plan with employer matching.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Annual CME allowance (stipend plus paid days off) and paid professional liability (malpractice) insurance.

Position Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Family Medicine.
  • Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in the State of Michigan.
