Job Description

Baylor Scott & White – Dallas:

Is seeking an accomplished and visionary Lung Transplant Surgical Director to lead and expand our lung transplant service with the goal of achieving high-volume center status. This role blends clinical excellence, surgical leadership, and strategic program development to drive exceptional patient outcomes and support the continued growth of a high-performing transplant program.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide surgical leadership for the lung transplant program

· Perform lung transplant surgeries and related thoracic procedures

· Develop and implement program strategies to enhance quality, outcomes, and volume

· Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., UNOS, CMS)

· Mentor and supervise surgical staff, fellows, and residents

· Participate in research initiatives, clinical trials, and academic publications

· Collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic planning and program growth

Qualifications

· Doctorate Degree in medicine with board certification in Thoracic Surgery

· Fellowship training in cardiothoracic or thoracic transplant surgery preferred

· Significant experience in lung transplantation with a strong surgical track record

· Demonstrated leadership experience in a transplant program or surgical department

· Eligibility for medical licensure in Texas.
