About the Opportunity

RWJ Barnabas Health has an immediate opportunity for a full time 100% Infectious disease position with a well-established private practice in Central New Jersey. Affiliated primarily with Monmouth Medical Center, Southern Campus, a community hospital in Lakewood, NJ, the position is in-patient focused with a selective out-patient schedule (No nursing homes). The practice offers an extremely flexible schedule, allowing this person to choose their own hours.

Duties & Responsibilities

Clinical (Inpatient — Primary Focus)

  • Provide inpatient infectious disease consultations at the affiliated 500+ bed teaching hospital for a wide range of complex infectious diseases.
  • Collaborate with hospitalists, surgeons, intensivists, and other specialists to guide diagnosis and management of infectious disease cases
  • Interpret and recommend appropriate use of microbiological, serological, and molecular diagnostic studies
  • Lead antibiotic stewardship initiatives in collaboration with pharmacy and hospital administration
  • Participate in infection prevention and control activities within the hospital
  • Manage HIV/AIDS and other complex immunocompromised patients in the inpatient setting

 

Clinical (Outpatient — Limited)

  • Conduct weekly outpatient clinic session for follow-up and infectious disease conditions

 

Compensation & Benefits

The anticipated base salary range for this position if hired to work is $280,000 - $390,000 per year. The total compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills, and professional experience.
