Internal Medicine Residency Clinic Faculty Physician at Orlando Health

Orlando Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine Physician to join our established academic outpatient practice. This position offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive primary care while participating in the education and mentorship of Internal Medicine residents and medical students.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about patient care, teaching, and collaborative practice, with a commitment to serving a diverse patient population.

Not a J-1 Visa position

Position Highlights

  • Primarily outpatient Internal Medicine practice
  • Expected productivity of approximately 20 patient encounters per day
  • Five days per week of direct patient care
  • Opportunity for ½ day administrative time upon achievement of established wRVU productivity thresholds
  • Coverage at OCMC (County Clinic), serving as the residents' longitudinal continuity clinic
  • Collaborative, team-based environment with strong academic engagement

Teaching & Academic Responsibilities

  • Provide year-round teaching and supervision of:
    • Internal Medicine residents
    • Medical students
  • Participate in outpatient precepting and educational activities
  • Mentor learners in clinical practice and professional development
  • Quality improvement initiatives and scholarly projects involving residents and students are encouraged

Inpatient Responsibilities

  • Shared inpatient call rotation of approximately 1 in 6 weekends
  • Weekend coverage includes:
    • Home call beginning Friday evening
    • Inpatient rounding Saturday and Sunday mornings
    • Supervision of resident teams

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of practice
  • Strong commitment to patient-centered care and medical education
  • Comfortable managing a broad spectrum of primary care conditions and prescribing controlled substances, including:
    • Opioids
    • Benzodiazepines
    • Stimulants
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary and academic environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior primary care experience
  • Experience teaching residents and/or medical students
  • Multilingual skills are welcomed, though not required
