Neurologist Opportunity in Hattiesburg, MS

Merit Health Medical Group  is seeking a  is seeking a BE/BC Neurologist for an outpatient-only setting to join our hospital-employed group. This is a replacement opportunity due to a planned retirement, offering an established, large referral base with current new patient wait times averaging two months. This position boasts a minimal call burden and a highly desirable lifestyle with flexible scheduling options.

Practice Details & Schedule

• 100% Outpatient: This is a strictly outpatient general neurology role.
• Schedule: Standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Flexibility: Flexible scheduling is available, including the option for a four-day workweek.
• Volume: Expect to see an average of 16 patients per day.
• Call Responsibilities:  None

Clinical Requirements & Procedures

• Experience: We are open to new graduates.
• Training: Fellowship training is required.
• Procedures: EEG interpretation, EMG/NCS, and Botox procedures are all required. (Lumbar punctures are not required).
• Academics & Research: Candidates must have a willingness to participate in Graduate Medical Education (GME) and teaching. Research opportunities are also possible.
• Subspecialty/Leadership: There is the potential to develop a subspecialty niche and take on leadership roles within the practice.

• Clinical Space: Enjoy dedicated neurology clinic space with procedure block time available.
• Equipment: EMG/NCS equipment is located on-site in the clinic, and an EEG lab is available at the hospital.
• Support Staff:  As the clinic grows, there is the potential to add support from Advanced Practice Providers (APPs).
• Stroke Infrastructure: The hospital features strong stroke program infrastructure and a dedicated stroke team.
• Technology: The practice utilizes Athena and Cerner EMR platforms as well as ambient AI technology to facilitate physician documentation and has telemedicine infrastructure in place, offering tele-neurology flexibility.
