Qualifications and/or Licensing Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Eligible for or licensed to practice medicine in Kansas
• Current DEA registration and BLS certification
• Experience in a FQHC or community health center is welcome but not required
• Bilingual skills are a plus

The Kansas Recruitment and Retention Center (KRRC) partners with hospitals, private practices, community health centers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC), and other organizations to help strengthen the health care workforce in rural and urban under resourced communities across the State. KRRC services are designed to assist Kansas communities in recruiting and retaining physicians, dentists, pharmacists, physician assistants, APRNs, nurses, dental hygienists, allied health professionals, and behavioral health professionals. In addition to offering recruitment support for Kansas health care facilities and job search support to a variety of health care providers, the KRRC offers resources for CV/resume building, interview prep, and contract negotiation.  

Currently partnering with 55+ health care organizations, we serve as their initial point of contact and liaison in recruiting those seeking to serve in rural and urban underserved communities.

This FQHC was founded in 1976 to focus on caring for Wichita’s Native American Community. Today, they welcome and serve all people who need care across Sedgwick County and nearby communities, no matter your background or status. They know that when everyone is cared for as individuals, our communities become healthier and stronger together.

They are located in the largest city in Kansas and right at the point where the Big and Little Arkansas Rivers join together. The arts have always prospered here. A dozen museums are scattered throughout the city, each with a distinctive or historic cast. This city is considered the economic hub of the region and is home to corporate headquarters for leading producers of aircraft, aviation components and all-American consumer products. There are plenty of fun things to do and see with more than 136 municipal parks and playgrounds covering nearly 3,000 acres. The Park Board offers a bike system of more than 100 miles and landscaped picnic areas.
