The Opportunity
- Promote and maintain the mission, values, culture, and democratic principles of Vituity. Increased attention will be given to cultural integration at all existing and new practices (in conjunction with the VP, RD, and MD).
- Ensure all Vituity physicians understand their fiduciary obligations as Vituity partners.
- Support RDs and MDs under their supervision with the identification and correction of potential and/or existing operational or financial problems, including staffing, patient flow, coding, documentation, compliance, and productivity issues.
- Advise RDs and practice leadership teams under their supervision to ensure all practices provide the highest quality medical care.
- Partner with the Vituity Business Director of Radiology to develop and execute the operations strategy for the specialty.
- Identify opportunities for specialty integration to ensure the quality and efficiency of patient care delivery across the acute care continuum.
- Collaborate with Practice Management Operations Business Partner to allocate necessary resources for successful operations of the regions.
- Partner with Specialty VP to collaborate with Divisions, DLTs, and Division Vice Presidents (DVPs) to ensure all operational, quality, and performance issues are communicated appropriately and effectively.
- Assist the specialty VP with managerial oversight and performance evaluation of the RDs under their supervision.
- Recruit, mentor, and coach new RDs and MDs.
- Assist the specialty VP to provide a mentorship structure for new and seasoned RDs and MDs as requested by the specialty VP, Executive Vice President (EVP), and/or Chief Operating Officer (COO).
- Function as a RD and/or MD as needed.
- Assist RDs under their supervision in the selection of new MDs.
- Mentor RDs and MDs under their supervision to optimize management, operations, and leadership performance.
- Advise RDs under their supervision when it is necessary to counsel, restrict, or remove an underperforming MD.
- Assist the specialty VP to serve as a resource to RDs and MDs under their supervision.
- Monitor and intervene when appropriate and in collaboration with the specialty VP on matters of client, medical staff, and other staff conflict/problems.
- Meet with RDs and MDs under their supervision on a frequent basis and monitor high risk and new practices monthly.
- Assist the specialty VP in collaborating with People Operations to investigate and address provider complaints and issues in the Division.
- Assist the specialty VP in collaborating and communicating across divisions to ensure integration of specialties, support the EVP/COO in all matters related to partner affairs, specialty performance and financial alignment.
- Lead engagement with C-Level health system executives and physician group management, in person and via phone/video.
- Travel to client, stakeholder, and provider meetings.
- Partner with the specialty VPs and growth VPs to establish contract terms, assess operational fit, and negotiate new contracts.
- Actively participate in acquisition/merger and request for proposal (RFP) efforts as requested by specialty VPs, including being available for presentations and practice visits.
- Identify contracting opportunities within each division.
- Partner with specialty RDs in the contract negotiation process with existing contracts.
- Partner with the specialty VPs and growth VPs to communicate with DLTs regarding contract renewal and/or new growth.
- Lead new contract start-up process as needed or with RDs/MDs and facilitate smooth transition of new contracts from Growth/Business Development to Operations.
- Function as the startup RD and/or MD as needed.
- Practice clinically as needed to facilitate startups (clinical work is compensated at the rate other clinicians at the practice are compensated).
- Assist with review of monthly practice performance reports and correct problems when needed or assigned by the specialty VP to monitor for follow-up.
- Advise RDs and MDs under their supervision to optimize practice management and achieve profitability.
- Partner with RDs and MDs under their supervision to resolve issues with problem payers as needed.
- Monitor practice contributions and organization subsidies under their supervision.
- Partner with RDs and MDs under their supervision to identify and correct financial problems when needed and requested by specialty VP or EVP/COO.
- Partner with business partners in negotiations of managed care contracts affecting practices/regions that are under their supervision.
- Oversee specific rules that apply to contracting and provider treatment.
- Assist Specialty VP with programmatic responsibilities, including close interaction with appropriate Practice Management staff, RDs, MDs, and Advanced Provider Regional Leads (e.g., oversee Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, coordinate Vituity Advocacy efforts, and advance the recruiting program).
- Help coordinate and plan Vituity-wide meetings as assigned.
- Collaborate with specialty VPs and DLTs to coordinate communication and appropriate meeting attendance as required to support Vituity goals.
- Oversee and intervene when appropriate on provider-related issues including staffing, recruiting, operations, quality, administrative matters, and politically sensitive issues that impact a practice or region in the division.
- Manage administrative Partners to achieve the financial targets/benchmarks for each Vituity practice within guidelines or parameters determined by the Board.
- Act as the interface for legal, financial, billing, liability, and management services.
- Serve as Vituity’s spokesperson in and for the Specialty.
- Assure compliance with credentials, provider enrollment, scheduling, and recruitment.
- Assure alignment with Board policies and requests of the executive management teams across the specialty.
Required Experience and Competencies
- Licensed physician as a Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.
- Maintenance of membership and privileges on Hospital’s medical staff and comply with and abide by the bylaws, rules and regulations, and the policies and procedures of Hospital’s medical staff where services are being provided is required.
- Physician Partner status required.
- Medical group clinical work and management experience required.
- ABR board certification required.
- Extensive administrative and leadership experience.
- Experience as a Regional Director or above.
- Demonstrated superior clinical skills to serve as a role model by setting high standards.
- Demonstrated superior operational management.
- Extensive knowledge of medical group finances and operations; ability to interpret complex financial data with an understanding related to specialty management.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation and financial and contract analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to resolve disputes.
- Ability to travel based on business needs.
- Deep understanding of radiology technology including but not limited to PACS, DICOM routers, RIS, and reporting solutions.

Estimated annual base compensation of $600,000 – $900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience. Compensation for part-time and per diem roles is prorated based on clinical hours worked. In addition, Vituity physicians participate in our partnership model from day one, which includes profit distributions, equity ownership, and K-1 tax advantages. Total compensation including partnership income varies by site and may significantly exceed the range shown.
