Hospitalist Physician — Faculty Position | University of Florida College of Medicine

The University of Florida College of Medicine, Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine is recruiting full-time hospitalist faculty to join its team at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville, FL. This is a faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor, created in response to continued growth within the Division. Multiple full-time positions are available, with start dates based on recruitment needs and candidate availability. 

Position Highlights:

• Full-time, shift-based hospitalist schedule with 24/7 coverage (7-on/7-off, 7a–7p and 7p–7a shifts)
• No weekday or weekend call obligations outside of scheduled shifts
• Faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor within a Department of Medicine of 75 physicians, supported by 3 APPs under a collaborative practice model
• Primarily inpatient practice with access to extensive multidisciplinary specialty and subspecialty support within the UF Health academic medical center
• EPIC electronic medical record
• Teaching and supervision of medical students and residents, with opportunities for quality and safety research and committee involvement

Candidate Requirements:

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
• MD or DO, eligible for Florida medical licensure
• Open to both experienced hospitalists and new graduates (through the 2028 graduating class)
