Kaiser WLA is looking for a per-diem general dermatologist interested in medical dermatology. The dermatologist would be scheduled 14 patients per half-day, with routine procedures interspersed throughout the day (no excisions or cosmetics). Physicians are expected to care for pediatric patients in addition to adults.

Our expectation is for a 3 month or longer commitment, and several shifts worked per month.

We maintain outpatient operations both at the Venice Medical Office Building and the Baldwin Hills – Crenshaw Medical Office Building; exact site availability will vary based on workday(s) requested and staff availability.

About the position:
WLA physicians are team players; they are collaborative, friendly, and work well together. Accessing experienced consultants, utilizing a diverse formulary, and navigating Epic medical records makes care here better for patients and working here more streamlined for physicians.
WLA’s patient population is diverse, and the dermatologists see a wide variety of dermatologic conditions. Providing value-based, evidence-based care and addressing healthcare disparities are central to our work. We care about making patients feel satisfied, and we take the extra time and effort when needed.
We have our own Mohs surgeon and dermatopathologist. KP is also at the forefront of incorporating AI-guided workflows into note drafting, patient scheduling and appointment reminders, and refill automation.

Job descriptions are subject to change to meet the operational needs of the department and medical center.

About the area

The west side of Los Angeles is active and invigorating; it’s a melting pot of cultures, ages, and lifestyles. Locals love the easy access to beaches for surfing and beach activities and the Santa Monica mountains for hiking, while the great diversity in restaurants and cultural attractions add to the unique feel of our area.

Working here

KP West LA's collegial culture has led to a safe, secure, and respectful work environment. With our flat hierarchy, the medical staff is well integrated and supportive from all sides. Opinions count, voices are heard, whether from the most junior or senior physicians, promoting open dialogue and a strong camaraderie. One of the KP SCAL's mid-sized service areas, West LA has significant breadth, depth, and expertise in several tertiary specialties. Community involvement is strongly encouraged and supported; physicians and staff help in local schools and health fairs. In fact, West LA has adopted several local clinics, further contributing to the health and well-being of its diverse—and very appreciative—patient population. KP West LA is also a significant contributor to our Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine with over 100 of our doctors being faculty at the medical school. We always support and encourage our doctors to get involved in medical education with our medical school as well as our several KP residency programs.
