Holy Cross Medical Group (HCMG) has an exceptional full-time employment opportunity for a Board-Certified Geriatric Medicine physician to serve as Medical Director of Geriatric Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced physician to help design, develop, and expand a comprehensive geriatric medicine program across multiple Holy Cross Medical Group practice locations. The Medical Director will provide both clinical and administrative leadership, collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, operational leaders, and care teams to enhance access, quality, and outcomes for the growing senior population throughout the community.

The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing program strategy, standardizing best practices, supporting provider recruitment and development, and advancing innovative models of care that promote healthy aging, longevity, chronic disease management, care coordination, and population health initiatives. This position offers the opportunity to build upon a strong foundation within a well-established, mission-driven health system while helping shape the future of geriatric care across multiple sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and administrative leadership for the Geriatric Medicine program across multiple practice locations.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and growth of comprehensive geriatric services.
  • Establish clinical standards, quality metrics, and evidence-based care pathways.
  • Partner with operational leadership on program planning, strategic initiatives, and performance goals.
  • Support physician and APP recruitment, onboarding, mentorship, and retention efforts.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration among primary care, specialty care including a multidisciplinary neurology institute, behavioral health, physical therapy, case management and social work, home health, and community resources.
  • Champion quality improvement, patient safety, and population health initiatives focused on older adults.
  • Maintain an active clinical practice (75%) while serving in a leadership capacity (10%) with protected clinical administrative time (15%), as well.
  • Ambulatory only. No nursing home or inpatient responsibilities.

Ideal Candidate

  • Board Certified in Geriatric Medicine, although extensive experience in Geriatric Medicine will be considered.
  • Leadership experience as a Medical Director, Associate Medical Director, Program Director, or similar role preferred.
  • Passion for developing innovative models of care for older adults.
  • Experience in value-based care, population health, and quality improvement initiatives is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Holy Cross Health.
