NEONATOLOGIST – LEVEL II NICU

University of Chicago Medicine Community Practice | Chicago Suburb

Position Highlights:

• Predictable Community Practice: Lower-acuity Level II and Special Care Nursery with an average daily census of 2–6 infants
• Work-Life Balance: Approximately eight 24-hour in-house shifts per month with self-scheduling and no additional home call
• Level II Neonatology: Care for infants down to 31 weeks with CPAP capability and transfer support from UChicago Medicine’s Hyde Park campus
• University of Chicago Affiliation: University of Chicago academic appointment with future Family Medicine resident teaching and quality improvement opportunities
• Independent Practice: Serve as the on-site pediatric physician with UChicago subspecialty consultation available
• Moonlighting Available: Extra shifts available across UChicago community campus locations

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive Compensation: $260K–$290K based on experience
• Moonlighting: $125/hour
• Signing Bonus: $10K

Qualifications: 

• Certifications:  BC/BE in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
• Licensure: Eligible for medical licensure in Indiana and Illinois
• Skillset: Comfortable with Level II neonatal care, CPAP, and responding to the Emergency Department when needed
• Experience: Comfortable practicing independently; high-acuity experience preferred
