Complex Benign Gynecologic Surgeon; Obstetrics and Gynecology, Full-time PhysicianAlbany Med Faculty Physicians, Albany Medical College
Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time, fellowship trained Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and contribute to the continued development of its Complex Benign Gynecology Program. The successful candidate will join a growing regional referral practice focused on advanced benign gynecologic disease, minimally invasive surgery, multidisciplinary care, education, and academic development.
About the Department:
• Full-service tertiary care department with:
o 35 part-time and full-time physicians
o 17 advanced practice providers
o 2 full-time genetic counselors
o 24 residents and 7 fellows
• Over 2,500 deliveries per year
• Annual ambulatory clinic volume of 18,000+ visits
• Over 2,000 surgical generalist cases and 250+ family planning procedures per year
• Patient population includes complex co-morbidities
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide specialized evaluation and longitudinal management of patients with complex benign gynecologic conditions, including endometriosis, adenomyosis, chronic pelvic pain, complex fibroids, and other conditions requiring advanced gynecologic expertise.
• Perform advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, including complex laparoscopic and robotic procedures, with an emphasis on individualized, evidence-based surgical management of complex benign disease.
• Participate in and help expand multidisciplinary care pathways for patients with complex pelvic disease, collaborating with gynecologic imaging, urology, colorectal surgery, gynecologic oncology, and other relevant specialties.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient care for patients within the complex benign gynecology practice and participate in appropriate subspecialty clinical coverage.
• Teach and mentor medical students and residents, including operative education in minimally invasive and advanced benign gynecologic surgery.
• Participate in quality improvement, outcomes measurement, research, and scholarly activity.
• Contribute to the continued development of Albany Medical Center’s Complex Benign Gynecology Program.
Qualifications:
1. Possess an MD/DO degree from an accredited medical school and have or be eligible to obtain a New York Medical License.
2. Successful completion of a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) fellowship.
3. Board certified or board eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
