Develop a practice in Emergency and Inpatient Consultative Ophthalmology, in which the provide will include ethe participation of resident.  Perform initial and follow-up inpatient consultative service in the ER and the floor of OU Health adult and pediatric hospitals.  Faculty in the various subspecialist are available for advice, oversight, and transfer of care as needed.

A.  You are expected to spend at least 1/2 of the day for 5 days a week in the hospital-based setting

B. Option to work in the DEMEI comprehensive ophthalmology clinic at the downtown location for 3-4 half-days per week.

C.  Perform a comprehensive ophthalmic surgery 1/2 day per week.

D.  Share coverage with other members of the faculty for triage and trauma call duties

E.  Participate actively in the education and supervision of residents in the hospital setting; there may be times when you are asked to supervise residents in clinic or in surgery

F.  Participate in the educational programs for medical students from the OU College of Medicine and visiting students from outside institutions as assigned

2.  Maintain high clinical quality, productivity and citizenship within the department, e.g./ attendance and participation in lectures, rounds, committee assignments, academic activity, etc.

3.  Represent the department with clinicians, trainees, and staff who are based at affiliates and referral practices, doing so with professionalism and engagement, and providing the necessary and appropriate case-related education to the non-ophthalmologist with whom provider interacts.
