Build the Future of Thoracic Surgery

Intermountain Health is seeking a General Thoracic Surgeon to join our growing Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery program in Utah County. This unique opportunity offers the chance to become the foundational surgeon helping expand and shape a robust thoracic surgery program within a highly respected integrated health system.

As our program continues to evolve, you will work alongside an established team of cardiothoracic surgeons while leading the growth of advanced thoracic surgical services. This position is ideal for a surgeon who is excited by innovation, program development, collaboration, and the opportunity to make a lasting impact on patient care.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Join an established team of approximately five cardiothoracic surgeons
  • Opportunity to help build and expand a comprehensive thoracic surgery program.
  • Focus exclusively on thoracic surgery with no cardiac call responsibilities.
  • Access to advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgical technology, including Da Vinci robotic platforms.
  • Collaborative partnership with general surgery, gastroenterology, and multidisciplinary specialists.
  • Strong APP support structure with an established team supporting the cardiovascular surgery service.
  • Primarily practice at Utah Valley with occasional collaboration on complex cases at Intermountain Medical Center during program development.

Candidate Qualifications

We welcome applications from:

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible Thoracic Surgeons
  • Unrestricted UT license, or able to obtain
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers • DEA Registration schedules II-V
  • Experienced surgeons seeking program-building opportunities
  • Current fellows completing training who are eager to grow within a supportive environment
