JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Olympic Medical Physicians’ hospitalist team serves Olympic Memorial Hospital in Port Angeles, on Washington State’s beautiful North Olympic Peninsula. The OMP Hospitalist service seek team-oriented Internal Medicine Physicians to evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation and care to adult patients presenting with inpatient-level medical problems. Highlights of the practice include:

                --7-on, 7-off schedule, occasionally different hours may be required

                --Integration and leadership in a multi-disciplinary team devoted to hospital medicine

                --Ready access to local consultants as part of a large multispecialty group

                --Integrated electronical healthcare record system (EPIC) with local and regional hospital systems

The successful Hospitalist Physician at OMP is focused on providing excellent person-centered care to rural patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

 

EDUCATION

  • Medical degree from an accredited school. 
  • Successful completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA), approved postgraduate training program in Internal Medicine.
  • Successful completion of requirements of the ABIM board for certification in internal medicine. 
  • Maintains appropriate continuing medical education credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Completion of internal medicine residency.
  • Two years of practice in hospital medicine, preferred.

 

LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS

  • Board certified or active participant in the examination process leading to certification in Internal Medicine and area of sub-specialty (if any). Recertifies at appropriate intervals per specialty board requirements.
  • Maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington.
  • Maintains current DEA registration.
  • Maintains current ACLS certification.
  • Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff.
