Purpose Meets Flexibility: Seeking an Experienced Physician to Join our Post-Acute Long Term Care Team

Forrest Health is seeking a board-certified internal or family medicine physician to join its Post-Acute Care program. This physician will be joining the program’s Medical Director, a double-boarded family medicine and hospice/palliative medicine physician who is CMD certified through PALTMed. The two will share coverage for daily care at Forrest General Hospital’s 30-bed SNF in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as well as weekly rounding at Forrest Health’s regional facilities.

Position Details:

  • Flexible schedule that allows for a high level of freedom and work/life balance
  • 2.5 days per week rounding at Forrest General’s 30-bed SNF
  • Weekly rounding at assigned regional SNF facilities, including Highland Community Hospital (10-bed SNF) in Picayune, MS, and Marion General Hospital (10-bed SNF) in Columbia, MS
  • Phone-only call responsibilities 10-15 days per month, with a minimum of 1 weekend per month
  • Epic EMR fully integrated throughout all Forrest Health facilities
  • Addresses complex medical issues with a team-based approach, working with all specialties to improve both individual patient care and the function of the system

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Competitive guaranteed salary, with additional income potential
  • Up to $30,000 starting bonus
  • Up to $15,000 of moving expenses reimbursed
  • Up to $5,000/year for CME expenses, licensure, DEA registration, and professional membership dues reimbursement
  • 80 hours of PTO upon starting, plus a standard accrual each pay period
  • Employee benefits including sick leave, hospital-funded short term disability, retirement, and elective insurance plans to include group term life/AD&D, long term disability, dental, vision, and medical

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Must be board certified in either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in geriatric medicine or long term care
  • Must either be a Certified Medical Director or willing to become a Certified Medical Director through the PALTMed Association
