CFG Health Network is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to provide inpatient psychiatric care at Inspira Medical Center Bridgeton, with additional court-related responsibilities at Inspira Medical Center Mannington.
This position offers the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary behavioral health team caring for a high-acuity inpatient population. The psychiatrist will share the daily patient census with an experienced Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), collaborate with residents when assigned to the service, and participate in treatment planning and discharge coordination.
The psychiatrist is generally expected to be available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with typical onsite hours approximately 9:00 AM–4:00 PM.
The physician does not need to remain physically onsite for the entire availability window once rounds, patient care and other necessary onsite responsibilities have been completed. Documentation is preferably completed onsite; however, remote completion of documentation can be accommodated when appropriate.
Late-day admissions do not necessarily require the psychiatrist to remain onsite. Admissions must be completed within 24 hours and may be evaluated the following day when the 24-hour requirement can still be met.
Bridgeton has one full-time APN assigned to the unit, as well as psychiatry residents when present. Mannington also has one full-time APN.
The psychiatrist and APN share the patient census, with generally even assignments. APNs manage their assigned follow-up patients independently and may complete initial evaluations for voluntary admissions.
The psychiatrist is specifically responsible for completing STCF admission evaluations.
In addition to the primary clinical responsibilities at Bridgeton, the psychiatrist will provide court-related coverage for involuntary patients at Inspira Mannington.
Court is held onsite at Mannington every other Thursday and generally lasts approximately two hours. The psychiatrist will:
At this time, the psychiatrist's Mannington responsibilities are focused on court assessments and court appearances rather than ongoing management of the Mannington census. Routine follow-up care at Mannington is handled by the unit APN.
Travel time between Bridgeton and Mannington is considered work time, and mileage is reimbursed in accordance with CFG policy. Another psychiatrist provides court coverage when the assigned physician is on PTO.
The position includes one full weekend or two weekend days per month.
Weekend coverage is onsite at the assigned hospital. The psychiatrist should be available between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and is responsible for seeing the assigned patient census and completing new admissions. Weekend census is generally comparable to weekday census, although there are typically fewer or no discharges.
Evening/night call is generally covered by APNs, although psychiatrists may participate if interested. Evening call is remote/from home and covers multiple Inspira sites. The on-call provider may receive multiple calls during the evening.
If providing restraint coverage, the physician may be required to report onsite when clinically necessary.
