Put Your Passions into Practice: Primary Care Opportunity with the VA in Carrollton GA!

Why consider the Trinka Davis Veterans Village VA Community-Based Outpatient Clinic:

  • It pairs a community-based practice setting with VA’s mission-driven, team-based primary-care model.
  • Genuine multi-specialty backup in-house: primary care, mental health, radiology, dental, audiology, nutrition, social services, and lab are all on-site, which cuts down on the burden of coordination of chasing outside referrals for common needs.
  • It's a designated 1a-High Complexity facility, which for a CBOC means a broader scope of practice and more robust support services than a typical small rural clinic.

Position Highlights

Outpatient-Only Focus: Manage a dedicated primary care panel with an emphasis on acute, chronic, and preventive care, free from inpatient or hospital-call obligations.

Collaborative Care Model: Practice within an integrated, interdisciplinary team, working alongside specialty and ancillary services to coordinate patient care.

Direct Access to Leadership: Report directly to the Chief Medical Officer, with clear administrative structure and support from Regional Director and Primary Care leadership.

Streamlined Referral Support: Initiate and expedite consultations, diagnostic studies, and specialty referrals through an established, coordinated process.

Health Promotion Focus: Lead disease prevention and health promotion initiatives as a core part of patient care, not an afterthought.

Teaching & Academic Opportunities: Engage with residents and medical students at select clinics for those interested in mentorship and training.

Physician Leadership Role: Opportunity to serve as Physician Supervisor/Collaborator for NPs practicing under Restricted Practice Authority.

Team-Oriented Environment: Regular clinic team and service line meetings foster peer collaboration, shared learning, and collective problem-solving.

Advocacy Support: Structured process for addressing patient concerns, including PATS and Congressional correspondence, backed by administrative support rather than handled solo.
