Washington Radiology, formerly Progressive Radiology, is seeking an experienced Neuroradiologist to provide remote interpretation services supporting our network of imaging locations.

This opportunity is designed for radiologists looking for a flexible, productivity-based arrangement with compensation paid per read. The radiologist will primarily support neuroimaging volume while having the opportunity to interpret additional studies based on experience, credentials, and operational needs.

Position Overview

The Remote Neuroradiologist will provide timely, accurate interpretation of imaging studies performed across Washington Radiology, formerly Progressive Radiology, locations. The ideal candidate will have significant experience interpreting MRI and CT of the brain, spine, head, and neck and be comfortable working independently in a remote environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for a radiologist seeking to supplement an existing practice, build additional reading volume, or establish a consistent remote reading schedule.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interpret MRI and CT examinations of the brain, spine, head, and neck
  • Provide accurate and timely final reports
  • Review relevant prior imaging, clinical history, and supporting documentation
  • Communicate significant or urgent findings according to established protocols
  • Maintain appropriate turnaround times
  • Work collaboratively with technologists, referring providers, and the Washington Radiology clinical team
  • Maintain required licensing, credentialing, and continuing medical education requirements
  • Provide consistent reading availability based on mutually agreed-upon coverage needs

Potential Study Mix

Depending on experience and credentialing, reading volume may include:

  • MRI brain
  • MRI cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine
  • CT head
  • CT cervical spine
  • CTA head and neck
  • MRA head and neck
  • MRI internal auditory canals
  • MRI orbits
  • MRI soft tissue neck
  • Other neuro and cross-sectional imaging examinations

Additional general diagnostic imaging volume may be available based on the radiologist's experience and interest.

Compensation

This is a productivity-based, pay-per-read opportunity.

We have a significant amount of volume available to read, creating a strong opportunity for radiologists who want to increase their case volume and meaningfully supplement their income.

This remote reading opportunity supports multiple Washington Radiology locations, formerly Progressive Radiology, including:

  • Bel Air, MD
  • Berlin, MD
  • Bethesda, MD
  • Foxhall MRI – Washington, DC
  • Germantown, MD
  • Greenbelt, MD
  • Hagerstown, MD
  • Olney, MD
  • Salisbury, MD

With volume coming from multiple imaging centers, there is an opportunity for consistent reading volume and additional earning potential.

Schedule

100% Remote

Reading schedules can be structured around Washington Radiology's coverage requirements and the radiologist's availability.

Opportunities may be available for:

  • Consistent weekday coverage
  • Evening coverage
  • Weekend coverage
  • Supplemental reading blocks
  • Part-time or ongoing supplemental volume

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Fellowship training in Neuroradiology preferred
  • Strong experience interpreting neuro MRI and CT
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in required state(s), or willingness to obtain necessary licensing
  • Eligible for credentialing with Washington Radiology
  • Excellent diagnostic and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently in a remote reading environment
