Lead a Level II Trauma Program with a Strong Foundation and Room to Grow

Bryan Health, through Bryan Physician Network, is seeking a Trauma Medical Director (TMD) to lead our Level II ACS-verified Trauma Program in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced trauma leader to shape the future of a well-established program backed by deep specialty support, a robust APP team, and strong institutional commitment to trauma care.

About the Role

The Trauma Medical Director provides clinical and administrative leadership for the trauma service line and holds primary responsibility for maintaining the program's Level II ACS Verification and Level II State Trauma Center Designation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing leadership and direction to an established trauma team of 8 trauma surgeons and 10 specially trained trauma advanced practice providers
• Reviewing the current program structure and implementing changes to ensure patient care needs are consistently met
• Scheduling and overseeing ICU coverage in coordination with the trauma team
• Leading Grand Rounds, outreach, and educational initiatives
• Developing and implementing trauma performance improvement (PI) initiatives
• Guiding trauma program development and strategic planning
• Providing leadership across the trauma/ACS service line
• Collaborating extensively with other specialties to support comprehensive trauma care
• Ensuring ongoing compliance with state and national trauma certification standards
• Overseeing trauma education, injury prevention, and community engagement programs
• Representing the trauma program at local, regional, and national meetings
• Partnering closely with EMS agencies and referring hospital networks
• Providing clinical oversight and strategic direction for the broader trauma service line

Ideal Candidate

• Board Certified/Board Eligible Surgical Critical Care Surgeon
• Prior experience as a Trauma Medical Director, or significant experience in a trauma leadership role
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive program growth
• Full-time position; candidate must reside within the Lincoln community
