Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention

The Brown University Health Cardiovascular Institute, part of the faculty practice program for the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, is seeking an experienced preventive cardiologist to serve as Director of Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention. This academic leadership position offers an opportunity to lead and expand our nationally recognized cardiovascular rehabilitation program and comprehensive prevention clinic. The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team dedicated to cardiovascular risk reduction, secondary prevention, and improving long-term cardiovascular outcomes.

About the position:

• Provide medical leadership and oversight of cardiac rehabilitation and peripheral artery disease rehabilitation programs in a state-of-the-art, 36,000-square-foot facility, including Dean Ornish Intensive Program
• Maintain program certification and the highest standards of quality, patient safety, and clinical outcomes.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative leadership to expand program participation, strengthen referral networks, and develop strategic initiatives to improve patient access.
• Develop and expand a comprehensive prevention clinic emphasizing advanced cardiovascular risk assessment and management of complex dyslipidemias and cardiometabolic disorders.
• Integrate contemporary diagnostics, therapeutics, and lifestyle interventions into individualized cardiovascular prevention strategies.
• Establish collaborative relationships with primary care and other specialties to promote comprehensive cardiovascular risk reduction and prevention.
• Coordinate education and mentorship of medical students, residents, cardiology fellows, and multidisciplinary rehabilitation staff.
• Lead clinical research, quality improvement, and scholarly activities in cardiovascular prevention, lipid management, and rehabilitation.

About you:

• Demonstrated clinical and academic experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation and prevention.
• Strong commitment to clinical excellence, medical education, quality improvement, and academic scholarship.
• Academic qualifications appropriate for appointment at the Associate Professor level or higher, with expertise in preventive cardiology, clinical lipidology, and cardiometabolic medicine.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing or expanding clinical programs.
