Faculty Recruitment in Interventional Genomics in Treatment of Pediatric Disease

Cleveland Clinic Research, home to basic science, translational and clinical research at the Cleveland
Clinic, in collaboration with the nationally ranked Pediatric Diseases Institute, invites applications for a
leader in the field to design and direct a translational program in interventional therapy in pediatric
disease. We are seeking applicants for full time positions at the Associate or Full Professor level who
have expertise in gene therapy, hematology, stem cell therapy and/or pediatric oncology and have
experience translating their work into clinical studies.

We seek a translational scientist with a distinguished record of innovation in hematology or
immunotherapeutics to serve as both an independent laboratory lead and an institution cornerstone for
gene therapy advancement in pediatric disease. The investigator is expected to lead and drive a
productive and innovative laboratory research program that translates into the design and
implementation of novel therapeutics for pediatric disease in the Center for Childhood Diseases of the
Cleveland Clinic Health System. The Center is a state-of-the-art center that focuses on research in the
development of new hematologic and/or immunotherapeutics for a broad array of childhood diseases.

Leadership responsibilities include developing a team-based translational research program and
guiding investigator-initiated interventional trials across a broad range of disciplines in pediatric
diseases. In this role the investigator will serve as the primary institutional resource for the development
of a comprehensive gene therapy trial pipeline. Key responsibilities include providing strategic
leadership in navigating complex FDA interactions, overseeing/advising pre-IND and IND-enabling
studies, and ensuring institutional compliance with evolving gene therapy regulations. Expertise with
building translational infrastructure is highly desirable, and manufacturing strategies necessary to
advance a diverse array of gene therapy candidates into clinical trials. The candidate should hold an
MD, PhD, or both. Responsibilities for candidates with MDs may include clinical care and the candidate
will be expected to lead clinical trial development.

The salary range displayed in this job posting reflects the anticipated salary range for new physicians hired into full-time (100% FTE) positions. This range is generally aligned with or below the 50th percentile of nationally recognized compensation benchmarks by specialty. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined in accordance with fair market value, considering factors such as professional experience, clinical expertise, board certification, work history, and FTE. This stated range excludes the value of Cleveland Clinic’s comprehensive benefits package, which includes healthcare, dental, vision, retirement, and other offerings.
