Our flagship hospital, Baystate Medical Center, is home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate. We are seeking a Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon with expertise in Craniofacial & Maxillofacial Surgery to join our team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Mass.

Join an organization that has a long and proud tradition of continuous learning and improvement and often are among the first adopters of better ways to deliver care. Be part of an inspired and compassionate team working together to care for communities that need us.

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Join an established, high-volume craniofacial and maxillofacial practice with a strong referral base and significant regional need for facial trauma and reconstructive care.
  • Provide comprehensive care for adult patients with a clinical focus that includes craniofacial surgery, maxillofacial and facial trauma, complex facial fractures, orbital reconstruction, nasal and facial reconstruction, head and neck reconstruction, complex soft-tissue reconstruction, and skin cancer reconstruction.
  • Treat complex tertiary cases at Baystate Medical Center while participating in a hub-and-spoke practice model that provides opportunities for community-based care across affiliated locations throughout Western Massachusetts.
  • Build and expand your own referral base while developing a practice that can incorporate additional areas of clinical interest, including orthognathic surgery, breast reconstruction, general reconstruction, facial reanimation, and potentially gender-affirming facial surgery.
  • Participate in the education and mentorship of UMass Chan Medical School-Baystate Plastic Surgery and General Surgery residents and medical students within a high-volume clinical environment. The practice is supported by four dedicated PAs.
  • Collaborate with an experienced craniofacial surgeon and section chief while helping advance the growth and development of craniofacial and maxillofacial services throughout Western Massachusetts.
  • Enjoy a multidisciplinary practice with craniofacial/maxillofacial call distributed across the broader team.

THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH BAYSTATE:

  • Earn more from day one with competitive pay and affordable health coverage that includes Wellness and Massage reimbursements.
  • Recharge with up to 25 days of PTO in your first year, plus growth over time.
  • Invest in your future with adoption reimbursement assistance, tuition support, continuing education, and career development resources.
  • Build long-term financial security through a retirement plan company match and growing annual company contributions.
  • Support for life beyond work, including first-time homebuyer assistance and free financial coaching.
  • Well-being that goes beyond basics with mental, physical, and financial wellness programs.
  • Everyday benefits that matter with a wide range of Voluntary Benefits.
  • Peace of mind built in with company-paid basic life insurance.
  • Easy access to work with onsite parking available at select locations.
