LOCUMS General Surgery Opportunity in Washington, NC

ECU Health Physicians and ECU Health General Surgery-Washington, located in Washington, North Carolina, are seeking a BC General surgeon to provide locums coverage.

Coverage Needed: 

6/17/2025; 6/19/2025; 6/25/2025 – CREDENTIALED PROVIDERS ONLY IN THE ECU HEALTH SYSTEM

7/02- 07/07/2025 (7am - 7am)
Follow up in clinic for OR cases -preferred /optional one day a week

Opportunity Highlights:

• Routine general surgery
• Both Inpatient & Outpatient 
• Provider will not be required to remain on-site while on call – must respond within 30 minutes
• Established practice
• Experienced nursing staff
• OR resources include 5 operating rooms and a Davinci robot
• Strong hospitalist team for inpatient support
• ED averages 70 visits/day
• Average # of patients/day/provider 15 patients/day for clinic
• Average # of hospital admissions/day: 12
• Average # of hospital admissions/night: 1-2
• Surgical Cases per/month: 70
• No backup coverage in ER required
• Provider will be responsible for all general surgery admissions
• No ICU/Critical Care Procedures
• Onsite radiology and anesthesia support
• Level III trauma
• Support from nearby level 1 trauma center
• 142-bed hospital
• BLS and ACLS Required

142-bed tertiary hospital
New OR in the Hospital
Level III Trauma
24-hour emergency department
Anesthesiologist
Onsite Radiologist
