Pediatric Physiatrist
Children's Mercy Kansas City is seeking a BE/BC Pediatric Physiatrist to join our active, comprehensive, hospital-based, university-affiliated pediatric rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will exhibit excellent clinical skills, strong organizational and team skills and a desire to teach. Interest and skills in longitudinal neuromuscular management, brachial plexus injury, spasticity management, and EMG are desirable, but the duties assigned will depend on the skills and interests of the applicant. There will be opportunities for research and collaboration.
Recognized as regional leaders in pediatric rehabilitation care, our team consists of a talented team including six pediatric physiatrist, fellows, four nurse practitioners, a rehabilitation psychologist, and dedicated social workers, clinic nurses, nurse coordinators for the larger multidisciplinary programs, along with an amazing team of therapists from all pertinent disciplines. Our practice includes a CARF accredited inpatient service, a busy consultation service, a full spectrum outpatient service, as well as a Day Program. We have an active and expanding research program, an ACGME approved fellowship training program, and active involvement with PM&R residents with clinical and didactic teaching opportunities. We have the first pediatric-only EMG Lab in the country with exemplary accreditation with AANEM. Our practice has expanded to four Kansas City sites, along with telemedicine growth into Kansas and Missouri.
Our physicians diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric physical rehabilitation conditions, including inpatient and outpatient management of limb deficiency, neuromuscular disease, surgical neuromonitoring, EMG, brachial plexus injury, stroke, torticollis, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, spasticity/ITB, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, and wheelchair/seating needs. Our newest clinical service is our Adaptive Sports program.
