Spine Opportunity in Milwaukee, WI

We are recruiting a Spine Neurosurgeon to join our established, growing team at the Aurora Neurosciences Innovation Institute.

This position is located at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI but could have ambulatory opportunity in surrounding communities.  Patient base is established through referrals from within the system, but program also has increasing success at affecting the competitor footprint as well.  Our program is fully integrated with the orthopedic spine and interventional pain programs, which maximizes resource allocation, consolidates call coverage, and improves post-surgical care for patients.  In addition, we have established a collaborative non-operative spine program that optimizes access and triage into the system.

Program Highlights:

  • Tissue-preserving and robotic-assisted approaches to spine surgery
  • BCBS Blue Distinction Center
  • Risk-adjusted quality performance superseding target in all categories for 6 quarters
  • Performed more robotic spine surgery in 2018 than anywhere else in the world
  • Aurora Health Care saw almost 80,000 total spine outpatient visits last year alone

We offer the most advanced spine care available for back pain and neck problems and are recognized as innovators in the region.  We were the first to use minimally invasive spinal fusion and artificial disc replacement to treat degenerative disc disease. In addition, we offer complete management for spine conditions—everything from common low back pain and disc problems to spinal injuries and tumors. Our treatments include minimally invasive surgery, spinal reconstruction and fusion procedures.

Aurora’s comprehensive back and spine programs make it easier for you to get back to the things that matter most. With a care coordinator to guide the process, your patients are connected to an integrated team of specialists all working together on personalized treatment plan, allowing surgeons to focus on the operative components of their practice.

Being a Doctor Just Got Better

An ideal state to practice medicine
Wisconsin is one of the most physician-friendly states in the country. An effective Patient Compensation Fund and a supportive legal environment all make Wisconsin a great place to practice medicine. And for self-starting physicians who want to determine the course of their own practice, our state's low level of managed care makes it an ideal place to grow a rewarding career.

Lifestyle options
In addition to the excellent environment for a medical practice, Wisconsin offers a world of lifestyle choices, from urban settings to small communities and suburban areas. Friendly neighborhoods, a renowned university system, and an abundance of recreational and cultural offerings make Wisconsin an ideal place to live and work.

Golf, racing, skiing, boating, ethnic festivals, and four seasons of professional sports are just a few of the activities that Wisconsin families enjoy. For the outdoor lover, Wisconsin's natural beauty ranges from lush green rolling hills, to sandy beaches and spectacular cliffs on the Lake Michigan shore. From live theater to symphonies and diverse ethnic and continental cuisine, Wisconsin offers a true cultural smorgasbord from which to choose.

Finding better ways
Aurora is an integrated health care delivery system providing care in more than 69 communities throughout eastern Wisconsin. Our relationships with Wisconsin universities provide unique career opportunities such as faculty appointments, clinic-academic positions and residency programs. Whether you seek to join an employed medical group or establish an independent practice and serve on the staff of a hospital, we may have what you're looking for.
