IHA has an excellent employment opportunity for an Anatomic and Clinical Pathology physician who is Fellowship trained in Transfusion Medicine to be part of a well-established group practice located in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
IHA is seeking a Board Certified Pathology physician who is Board Eligible or Board Certified in Transfusion Medicine. This is a partnership track opportunity replacing a provider who will be retiring. Full time employment is preferred and duties for this opportunity include medical directorship of an active transfusion service and blood banks at multiple hospitals, leadership in blood utilization activities and participation in transfusion service regionalization. Additional duties based on interest and need will include surgical pathology in focused areas. Some management and clinical pathology is also desired.
The successful candidate will join a highly desirable, collegial group of 16 pathologists based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This pathology practice has been in existence for close to 50 years. Currently the practice is serving four hospitals in southeastern Michigan, their associated outreach programs, managing a reference laboratory devoted to esoteric and specialized testing and three limited function outpatient laboratories.
The group examines approximately 80,000 surgical specimens yearly, 500+ bone marrows, and has the largest flow cytometry service in the state. An active role is taken in clinical pathology and laboratory management and the providers enjoy working in a professionally supportive environment with colleagues who are committed to making group decisions through consensus.
