The position includes approximately 80% precepting and 20% direct patient care, with no call coverage required at this time.

Key Responsibilities: Clinical Education and Precepting (80%):

  • Resident Supervision: Mentor and supervise residents in the outpatient clinic, providing guidance and support during patient encounters.
  • Teaching and Evaluation: Deliver high-quality teaching during patient interactions, conduct comprehensive evaluations of residents, and contribute to curriculum development.
  • Lectures and Mentoring: Serve as core faculty by providing lectures, mentoring residents, and evaluating medical students.
  • Curriculum Development: Actively participate in the development and enhancement of the residency curriculum.

Patient Care (20%):

  • Private Patient Panel: Manage a small outpatient private patient panel, ensuring high standards of compassionate, patient-centered care and maintaining accurate and timely medical records.
  • Clinical Metrics: Ensure key performance metrics are met while delivering exceptional care.

Administrative Duties:

  • Faculty and Operational Meetings: Attend faculty and provider operational council meetings.
  • Faculty Development: Participate in ongoing faculty development activities.
  • Recruitment and Policy: Assist with recruitment efforts and contribute to the development of clinical policies and procedures.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Residency Committees: Participate in residency-required committees, lectures, and recruitment efforts.
  • Back-Up Call: While residents cover primary call duties, occasional backup call coverage may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Board certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Significant outpatient clinical experience required; prior experience in academic medicine and residency training is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong mentoring and teaching abilities, excellent clinical skills, and the ability to balance educational and patient care responsibilities.

Additional Information:

  • On-site pharmacy and lab.
  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) available a few days a week.
Opportunities for virtual visits and eVisits are available at the provider’s discretion.
  • Day-to-day responsibilities include a combination of resident precepting, private patient care, and participation in didactic sessions.
