Duke Radiation Oncology, Hybrid-Academic Practice 

The Department of Radiation Oncology at Duke University is seeking a clinically oriented and either board-eligible or board-certified Radiation Oncologist to focus on the management of patients for a hybrid-academic practice located at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC, and Duke University Hospital in Durham. 

Our Radiation Oncology Clinic at Scotland Memorial offers patients cutting-edge radiation therapy in a welcoming environment, as well as the opportunity to enroll in clinical trials through an affiliation with the Southeast Cancer Control Consortium. The practice will include two-three clinical days/week at the Scotland Memorial campus and two-three days/week (1-2 days clinical activity and 1 day scholarly time) at the Duke University Hospital in Durham. Call will be shared with the Duke Radiation Oncology faculty from the main campus. 

The ideal candidate will have three plus years community-based experience and be highly motivated to develop her/his professional career within Duke University Radiation Oncology and the Duke Cancer Institute. Time will be allocated for scholarly activities including participating in clinical trials at Duke University Medical Center. 

The greater Triangle area of Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill offers singles and families many options for an active outdoor and social life. There are excellent public and private schools for growing families. The Research Triangle Park, a globally prominent high-tech research and development center conceived around the three academic centers, has helped make the area culturally diverse and economically resilient. The Triangle is nationally recognized as a great place to live and work.  The Laurinburg area offers a smaller community with a low cost of living. The Pinehurst/Southern Pines area is midsize and located 35 minutes from Laurinburg and over an hour from Durham. The area is know for its golf and equestrian activities.
