Director of Obstetrical Anesthesiology

The Cleveland Clinic Center for Obstetrical Anesthesiology         

Cleveland Clinic, one of the world’s most distinguished academic medical centers, announces a search for a Director of Obstetrical Anesthesiology within the Anesthesiology Institute. 

Position Oversight:

--over 12,000 deliveries a year across four hospitals with Levels III and IV obstetrical units with both routine and complex obstetrical anesthesia

--Oversight over OB Anesthesiology research, fellowship and residency education (Director position is distinct from OB anesthesiology fellowship program director role)

--new division of Maternal Critical Care

--fetal surgery program

--salary commensurate with experience and the demands of the position

The Director would be expected to align education and research endeavors to promote state of the art OB anesthesia practice for our own faculty and those outside the Cleveland Clinic to fulfill our mission of educating those who serve. Collaboration with other Institutes and the Anesthesiology Institute’s Department of Outcomes Research are tremendous resources to investigate the problems of obstetrical anesthesia patients.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal Director candidate should be a recognized leader within obstetrical anesthesiology as an outstanding clinician, educator, and scholar, who supports research and education within a multi-specialty organization.  The Center Director must be a demonstrated leader with strength in communication and collaboration both within and outside of the department.  A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience, is available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. 

Qualifications:
--Fellowship training in Obstetrical Anesthesiology or extensive experience in Obstetrical Anesthesiology
--Board Certified in Anesthesiology
--Physician licensed or eligible for medical licensure in Ohio
