The Henry Ford Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, in conjunction with HF Wyandotte Hospital, are seeking a board eligible/certified Gastroenterologist.

The Henry Ford Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, in conjunction with HF Wyandotte Hospital, are seeking a board eligible/certified Gastroenterologist. Henry Ford Medical Group is one of the nation’s largest group practices with 1,900 physicians and researchers in more than 40 specialties.  The Division of Gastroenterology currently employs 39 Gastroenterologists and Hepatologists, making us the largest subspecialty GI practice in Detroit and the surrounding suburbs.  We are supported by 6 APPs, a full time clinical psychologist, a dietician, and 241 support staff. We have several subspecialty groups, including liver transplantation, IBD, motility, interventional GI, and hepatology.  The Division provides outpatient clinic and endoscopy services at Henry Ford Hospital and 7 suburban satellites as well as inpatient consultative services at Henry Ford Hospital and Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital. We are looking to build a similar group at Wyandotte, with the support of and in partnership with Wyandotte executive leadership. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology supports a robust training program which includes 15 GI fellows, one of which trains additionally in transplant hepatology as well as 1 additional interventional fellow for a total of 16 fellows.

    • Eventually, hoping to build a group of 5-6 Gastroenterologists based out of Wyandotte
  • Mix of outpatient and inpatient endoscopy
    • Outpatient endoscopy will ramp up quickly, buoyed immediately by vibrant HFMG open access processes
  • Access to cutting edge and top-of-the-line endoscopes, equipment, and software (including Provation and EPIC)
  • Membership in large and academic Gastroenterology/Hepatology division
    • Partners with expertise in Hepatology, IBD, Motility, and Advanced Endoscopy
    • Built-in access to ancillary GI services, including breath testing, capsule endoscopy, fibroscan, and motility studies
    • Ability to virtually attend academic lecture series for CME/MOC      
  • Modern clinic space within main hospital
    • Support team will consist of clinic MA, scheduling support, and APP to support inpatient and outpatient patient care
  • Call responsibilities
    • Cover hospital a maximum of every 4thweekend
    • Cover a maximum of 7 weeknights/month
    • Additional moonlighting available

Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital is a 379 bed acute care hospital and is part of the Henry Ford Health. Recently renovated and with some of the highest patient satisfaction and quality ratings in the Henry Ford Health.

HFWH is a non-profit hospital and located in southeast Michigan, along the Detroit River, with an excellent reputation for quality care and leading market share in the community.  The main Wyandotte campus features a surgery department with 11 operating suites, two endoscopic suites and a daVinci robotic surgical system; a 25-bed birthing center, an emergency department with pediatric specialty care; general medicine and surgical care; ancillary testing; inpatient physicial medicine and rehabilitation services; adult mental health services; neurosurgical services; and physician offices.  HFWH is the only Center for Excellence in Bariatric Surgery in the downriver suburban communities. Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital operates an outpatient site, Henry Ford Health Center, Brownstown, situated on a 35-acre site.  The outpatient ambulatory surgery center includes a 24 -hour emergency department, same day surgery, a diagnostic sleep lab, pharmacy, clincial lab and medical office space.  The medical imaging department offers CT scanning, ultrasound, X-ray, mammography and breast stereotactic service.
