RPG - Hospitalist - Sunnyside, WA

Rural Physicians Group (RPG) is looking for a hospitalist to join our team at Astria Sunnyside Hospital who is passionate about rural medicine, is looking to make a difference in medically underserved communities, and wants to enjoy a flexible schedule with more autonomy.

We are on a mission to help rural hospitals meet the needs of the people they serve. Our expansive network of passionate, experienced hospitalists, surgicalists and APPs works full-time to solve the healthcare crisis in rural communities, partnering with hospitals to offer continuity of care and improved patient outcomes.

THE OPPORTUNITY

• 25 Bed CAH
• Level 4 Trauma Center
• ICU (7 beds)
• EMR: Cerner with Dragon dictation
• High volume- ADC: 18-20
• ACLS, BLS certification required
• COVID vaccine required

SCHEDULE & ACCOMODATIONS

• Consistent placement -plan your schedule 90 days out
• in an effort to provide continuity of care and consistency with our small rural communities and hospitals, we require a minimum of 5 day stretch per month (you may work more!)
• Dedicated and convenient private and comfortable quarters/call-room
• Meals provided in physicians lounge

QUALIFICATIONS

• Board certified in family or internal medicine
• Active state licensure or ability to obtain
• Ability to perform full scope of practice
• Clean malpractice and disciplinary history
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Prior experience preferred
• Proficiency and willingness to perform mainline procedures

Founded in 1946, Astria Sunnyside Hospital became an affiliate of non-profit Astria Health in September 2017. With 25 beds, it is a critical access hospital that also operates a series of primary care clinics and provider-based specialty clinics, and receives additional support from a network of Astria Health primary and specialty care clinics throughout Yakima County. The hospital offers a 24-hour level 4 emergency room, an intensive care unit, a level 1 cardiac facility, a cancer center, and a family birth center. Services include laboratory work, inpatient surgery, nephrology (kidney care), wound care, hyperbaric therapy, hearing and speech assessment and therapy, nutritional education, and behavioral health care. The hospital also provides people living and working throughout the Yakima Valley region with advanced diagnostic services such as MRI, digital mammography and 3-D obstetrical ultrasound.

The hospital is a tax-exempt, nonprofit facility and is an affiliate of Astria Health. An unpaid board of trustees governs the hospital. No one will be denied services based on inability to pay, and discounts are available based on family size and income.
