Opportunity Details

We are currently seeking a PsyD or PhD-level Clinical Psychologist at the East Hawaii Health Clinics, a department of Ka’u Hospital, in the East Hawaii Region on the Island of Hawaii. The function of the East Hawaii Health Clinics is to provide outpatient primary, specialty, and urgent care services. This provider will function independently, maintaining a clinical practice in the East Hawaii Health Clinics-Primary Care that includes outpatient behavioral health consultations, short-term therapy, and health coaching. LCSW candidates will be considered.

This provider will serve as faculty at the Hawaii Island Family Medicine Residency, providing clinical and didactic instruction on topics relevant to BH. Learners will include residents, medical students, and pharmacy students. Responsibilities will include committee participation.

This provider will help develop and manage outpatient behavioral health programs across all East Hawaii Health Clinics under the supervision and direction of the Medical Director for East Hawaii Region. This will include professional development programs, monitoring of clinical quality and productivity, and training of psychology fellows.  

The position requires experience in a community setting, delivery of culturally-appropriate services, patient education, outreach, and referral across a network of services. While the focus of care will be in an outpatient primary care clinic, services may include possible consults in the Emergency Department and Acute Care setting.
