Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking multiple BC/BE Child & Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our growing team at Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC) in Hackensack, NJ. The growing Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program compliments an already established academic medical center. Join a collaborative team of physicians, psychologists, social workers, and pediatricians at HUMC and Joseph M. Sanzari Children’s Hospital, New Jersey’s #1 rated hospital and children’s hospital in 2022 by US News & World Report. 

HUMC offers academic teaching opportunities with general psychiatry residents and medical students from the Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine. Live in desirable Bergen County, NJ or the surrounding area, just 10 miles from Manhattan, with access to highly rated public schools, private schools, and universities nearby. 

This opportunity is a hybrid outpatient/consultation position working with the Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative Hub Teams (social worker, case manager, data analyst), to provide consultation to pediatricians and directly to families and children. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with pediatricians in our statewide collaborative hubs to provide comprehensive patient care.

Highlights:

  • Academic appointment with the new Hackensack Meridian Health School of Medicine 
  • Collaboration among multiple sites (statewide). 
  • On-call responsibilities required. 
  • Outpatient/Consultative setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation support to Primary Care Pediatricians (PCPs) via telephone.
  • Document consultations according to program guidelines. 
  • Provide screening and treatment services to patients referred by the PCPs according to program guidelines. 
  • Document treatment and screening services provided.
  • Participate as required and as available in weekly Service Hub conference calls. 
  • Participate in education of Pediatricians as determined in conjunction with the Program Co-Principal Investigators.

Requirements Include:

  • Current New Jersey Medical License
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
  • Medical degree from a recognized medical school
  • Ability to interface effectively with professional personnel
