The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in conjunction with the Cancer institute of New Jersey, Rutgers Health and RWJBarnabas Health invites applications for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the Section of Surgical Pathology in the Division of Anatomic Pathology, specializing in Genitourinary Pathology. 

The section is responsible for performance of surgical pathology laboratory services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – the school’s 650 bed tertiary care core teaching hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. The successful candidate will also qualify for membership at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, the state’s only NCI designated cancer center. The successful candidate will be an integral member of the Surgical Pathology team, consulting with clinical staff, as well as active participants in the educational programs of the Department including teaching medical students, residents, and clinical fellows, and will be expected to engage in productive research activities with other members of the Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Subspecialty interest in cytopathology is desirable, but not required.

Currently, CINJ is home to an active and busy genitourinary surgical service. Additionally, the Jack and Sheryl Morris Cancer Center, a freestanding (12 story, 510,000 square foot) cancer center that will include inpatient (96 beds) and outpatient facilities as well as space for research and education activities related to cancer, is scheduled to open in 2024.

  • MD, DO, or MBBS is required along with board certification or board eligibility in AP/CP or AP.
