Ochsner Health in New Orleans is seeking physicians BC/BE in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine to join our expanding section of seven neonatologists. Recent graduates and experienced neonatologists with training or experience in level IV NICU are invited to consider joining our division working alongside a team of experienced advance practice practitioners. We are the only hospital in Louisiana to provide both Level IV neonatal and obstetric care at the same facility, Ochsner Baptist Hospital.

Opportunity Details:

  • Ochsner Baptist Hospital features a state-of-the-art 54 bed, level IV NICU with private rooms for singleton patients as well as multiples. 
  • Our section of fetal echo is located at Ochsner Baptist Hospital and coordinates care of babies with complex congenital heart diseases. 
  • Our team participates in the Vermont Oxford Network, has continuous performance improvement initiatives underway.
  • A full spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialty support is always available.

Our comprehensive Ochsner Children’s program includes 88 primary care pediatricians in 27 locations in Louisiana and Mississippi - and pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists (Ochsner Children’s™) totaling over 270 physicians. Ochsner Children’s currently cares for patients in a 67-bed Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 14-bed PICU, a 12-bed pediatric CV-ICU, a NAEC-accredited level IV 4 bed Pediatric EMU and a 44-bed pediatric acute unit, with a dedicated pediatric emergency room, supported by a 24-7 dedicated pediatric and neonatal transport team utilizing rotary and fixed wing as well as ground transport.  And we recently began construction on the building of a new, comprehensive, dedicated 5-story Children’s Hospital on our main campus in New Orleans, with expected opening at the start of 2028.

In addition to direct patient care, Ochsner Children’s Hospital has an ACGME-accredited pediatric residency program and is also responsible for teaching pediatric residents from the Tulane-Ochsner Pediatric Residency program as well as medical students from both Tulane and the University of Queensland, Australia.  Ochsner Health and Xavier University of Louisiana recently announced an agreement to establish a joint allopathic College of Medicine, the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine which is in the LCME accreditation process currently.  Our faculty publishes hundreds of research papers annually and Ochsner participate in numerous multi-center studies and trials.
