Medical Officer of the Day

TN Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services has an openings for a part-time, contract position for a Medical Officer of the Day (MOD).

The MOD is the designated responsible physician who is physically present in an inpatient facility during periods when the regular medical staff is not on duty.

These periods generally include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, but coverage may be required in other special circumstances.

This position will work in the admissions department and will work up to thirty hours per week. Compensation is $150 per hour. Preference will be given to Licensed Psychiatrists.

Psychiatry - Clinical Director

TN Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services has an openings for a Clinical Director Psychiatrist at Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute in Nashville, TN

The Clinical Director should have proven experience in successfully initiating and sustaining multi-agency and multi-community policy, system, and environmental change strategies and demonstrate a working knowledge of persons with complex psychiatric and addiction issues. They must have skills in networking among a diverse group of agencies and organizations with effective communication skills, including written and public speaking, and adept at dealing with people at various levels within the organization, as well as external stakeholders and leaders.  Management skills are important with the ability to coach and mentor a team with diverse levels of expertise.

This position is assigned to an inpatient psychiatric hospital without outpatient services, with primary working hours from 8 AM to 4:30 PM, which is flexible.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide leadership and coaching to several departments including psychiatry, medical services, pharmacy, infection control and laboratory.  Provide care to patients and provide continued care for longer-term patients.
