The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia (UVA) is seeking a full-time, Fellowship-trained Cardiovascular / Thoracic Radiologist to join the Division of Non-invasive Cardiovascular Imaging and Section of Thoracic Imaging in the Division of Body Imaging. Primary clinical duties for this position will include but are not limited to reading all modalities for thoracic studies, including plain film, CT and MRI, and non-invasive cardiovascular (NICV) studies, inclusive of cardiac and extracranial vascular CT and MR. Clinical work will be about 50% thoracic and 50% NICV imaging. Procedural skills are considered an asset, although not a requirement.

Qualified candidates for this position must have a MD or equivalent degree, be eligible for Virginia State Medical Licensure, be ABR Certified/Eligible or have equivalent qualification, and be strongly interested in a career in academic radiology. Academic rank is dependent on qualifications and experience.

The Division of NICV currently has six faculty members. The Division provides all pediatric and adult cardiac CT and MR studies performing the entire gamut of procedures including stress CMR. In addition, the faculty members perform and interpret all extracranial CT and MR angiographic procedures. The Division has an active research program and 4 fellows. We have state of the art cardiovascular (CV) MR systems (three 3T and one 1.5T) and three 3rd generation dual source CT scanners. The Department also operates two research CV MRI systems (3T and 1.5T).

The Thoracic Imaging Section is growing and currently consists of six radiologists within a larger Division of Body Imaging Division and has active research and fellowship programs.
